Trauma!

Abandonment is commonly felt in individuals. Children experience feelings of abandonment at an early age. In some instances, there are very few options to prevent this feeling. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Parents who have to work and leave their children with a caregiver, babysitter, family or the like may recognize a change in their child's behavior when being dropped off or when they have to leave. ⠀⠀

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Sometimes, children fear their parents will not return based on their experience and act out with the care giver or at home. Other times, children act out and make it difficult for their parents to find someone to care for them. Whatever the reason, these behaviors exist and are carried out throughout life.⠀⠀⠀

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

As adults, feelings and fear of abandonment show up in relationships.

Individuals close off loving and connecting to others for fear of abandonment. In other cases they may be clingy for fear that their loved one will leave.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Identifying if you struggle with abandonment is essential in relationships.

If you are struggling with feeling alone, fear of being left and/or other powerful emotions, try evaluating your feelings and behaviors within relationships.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Are you ok alone? Do you cling to others? Do you have a fear of being alone?

Unsure, let's talk about it.

For more information on how abandonment is seen throughout your relationships, let’s talk about it. You can contact the office to learn how you can be supported on your wellness journey. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
